organic amino acid fertilizer

Lumina™ is a unique plant fertilizer produced via microbial fermentation that contains a bioavailable source of plant nutrients, amino acids, and polypeptides that can promote plant vigor and nutrition in all conditions.

Derived from: molasses and shrimp protein hydrolysate*

Shrimp protein hydrolysate is the material obtained by the hydrolysis of proteins to their constituent amino acids and short polypeptides. They are a source of nitrogen.

How it works

1. Apply Lumina as a foliar spray or root drench.

2. The plant effortlessly absorbs and utilizes the amino acids as a form of nitrogen and carbon.

3. The amino acids also act as chelating agents, meaning they may help the plant uptake a range of micronutrients like calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, mangese, potassium and zinc.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Lumina?

Lumina is an amino acid product designed to support plant metabolism, nutrient mobility, stress tolerance, and water-use efficiency.

Why does Impello sell Lumina?

We sell Lumina because amino acids are useful tools for helping plants function under stress. They support metabolism, chelation, nutrient movement, and physiological recovery from chemical inputs.

How does Lumina work?

Lumina supplies amino acids that can support nutrient mobility, antioxidant systems, stress signaling, and efficient plant metabolism.

Why does Lumina matter to growers?

Lumina matters because stress often reduces nutrient uptake and metabolic efficiency. Amino acids help plants keep moving resources and maintaining function when conditions are difficult.

Why are amino acids important?

Lumina delivers L-amino acids, meaning they are already broken down and immediately ready for the plant to use. This saves the plant the metabolic energy it would otherwise spend breaking down whole proteins, allowing it to redirect that energy toward growth and stress recovery.

How do I use Lumina?

Lumina is highly effective both as a foliar spray and as a root drench. It can be mixed easily into reservoirs or tank-mixed with other crop inputs.

When should I use Lumina?

You should apply Lumina early and during the early stages of plant growth. Introducing it during vegetative growth helps support plant metabolism from the start, accelerating development while building up the plant's baseline strength and stress tolerance before heavier pressures occur.

Note: Application strategies change based on your specific crop, location, substrate, goals and challenges. Contact an Impello advisor at info@impellobio.com to develop a program right for your operation.

How much should I apply and how frequently?

The general rule of thumb for Lumina is to apply 5 to 10 mL per gallon of water or nutrient solution. For routine maintenance, use it 1x a week or it can be used with every watering or applied as a weekly foliar spray.Note: Application strategies change based on your specific crop, location, substrate, goals and challenges.
